We are still in Denmark, of course. I have simply been neglecting to post. Sometimes I get a little busy with Sean and with my part-time English teaching and The Thin Beer gets thinner and thinner! We had a great Christmas. Kevin's parents came to visit. My brother brought his girlfriend to see us too. We had a houseful and Sean was in kid heaven. He got so much attention and presents from Santa. He had a great time and still talks about it. We had a great time too. I feel so good with family around!
Our New Year's Eve was uneventful. We let Sean eat a small bowl of snacks and candy and tried to share a kid's no alcohol peach champagne with him. We forgot he really doesn't like bubbles. The neighbors in the surrounding houses shot off rockets for hours. I was awake at midnight but Sean and Kevin slept right through. Sean woke up at one point because of a whistle rocket, so I took him to the window to show him it was the neighbors' fireworks he was hearing. He was confused. He had dreamed that the animals on his farm poster were whistling.
Sean is at school today. Last week he was sick. Lots of kids have been sick and lots of teachers too. Kevin isn't feeling well. The days are supposed to be getting longer, but the weather has been so gray. Yesterday, for half an hour, the sun came bursting through a break in the clouds and it was bright and heavenly. More of that please!
Here are some pictures from around our house:
You can see a reflection of me in the front door. There is frost on the sidewalk. To the left is our bike shed.
Our patio furniture is always falling down in the wind. Sometimes I move the chairs up against the house.
A little bit of sunshine on the north end of the house. These pictures were taken on New Year's Day.
